Fireclad staff recently attended the official launch of the fantastic new Interior System Training Facility within the Construction Training Centre based in Birmingham.
The facility will enable the next generation of dry liners and ceiling installers to train locally.
The Lord Major of Birmingham, Councillor John Lines, officially opened the facility and presented certificates to the six apprentices currently on the Interiors Systems course, two of which are employed by Fireclad. Presentations were given by Richard Thorpe Mace, Project Director; Councillor Ali, Cabinet Member for Development, Jobs & Skills; Kam Hundal, Principal Employment Development Office from Birmingham City Council and Stuart Roberts, the CCF Regional Director for the East Midlands who have sponsored all of the materials used at the facility.
National Apprenticeship Week has been going for six years, and this year has been its most successful year yet. During the week, companies pledged to recruitmore than 13,600 new apprentices. Apprenticeships, such as the ones offered by Fireclad, impart practical skills and valuable knowledge onto young people to help them onto a career ladder at a time when jobs are hard to come by.
We look forward to December when our two apprentices, Matt Pegg and Joshua Skinner, complete their apprenticeships, and we hope there are many others to follow in their footsteps as we aim to give more young people the opportunity to get a trade for life.
