Hereford Old Livestock Market
- Project: Hereford Old Livestock Market
- Client: Stanhope
- Architect: Leslie Jones Architects
- Project Value: £500,000
Old Market, Hereford will be the only major new retail and leisure development to open in 2014 and will create a new retail and leisure quarter in the heart of one of the UK’s most historic cities. It is estimated that as well as placing Hereford in the top 100 UK retail locations, it will provide 1,100 new jobs for the county once completed. The 300,000 sq ft. development includes a six screen Odeon cinema, a full-offer Debenhams department store, Waitrose, Next, TK Maxx and a variety of additional shops and restaurants along with 615 free car parking spaces.
The Odeon will be the city’s first fully digital six screen cinema and Fireclad have been appointed to form the warm shell lining of the complex which has an understandably high acoustic and fire performance specification. Furthermore Fireclad will be forming the fire compartmentation lining to the escape stair cores and fitting additional insulation to the car park and service areas. Fireclad have also been engaged to install a number of suspended ceilings and maintain the fire strategy plan, using passive fire protection products and systems.
