- Project: QVC Multi Media Centre
- Client: QVC
- Architect: GMW
- Project Value: £2.2M
The building sits over five levels and covers 13,000 square metres and will house over 500 people, and provide state-of-the-art TV studios.
Fireclad carried out the drylining and plastering to walls and ceilings, installation of demountable ceilings and acoustic fabric panelling system to walls. We also worked with the client in providing the design and complete construction of 3 nr TV studios which included 6m high acoustic rated walls wrapped in acoustic fabric with a ceiling grid system to incorporate camera and lighting rigs. The solid ceilings finishes to offices, meeting rooms, training room areas and restaurants were installed to a design of a high acoustic performance with an acoustic spray finish. Within the main office areas an acoustic panel system was installed on magnets
Fireclad also carried out fire protection, firestopping and installation of fire barriers.
Client comment: “The teams involved, both internal and external, have worked tirelessly to ensure that there has been a seamless transfer from our old building where our live broadcast finished at 02:00 this morning to here. As the lights go off in Battersea, they are straight back on at our new home in Chiswick. This investment demonstrates our commitment to providing our viewers with the highest level of broadcast and service, and our employees with a vastly improved working environment.”
